Ayung River Rafting & Kayaking

Elephant Trekking

Our elephants come from Sumatra, and as part of our efforts to conserve this magnificent species, we’d like you to learn more about them, go trekking and experience life with our incredible elephants! By riding our elephants you help us help other elephants in Sumatra by providing funds for food and land to make sure their homes remain protected.

After enjoying the drive, be welcomed to Bali Elephant Camp with a refreshing welcome drink at the 'Trunk' n ' Mahout' valley-view café. Watch the elephants enjoy their morning or afternoon bath and then meet our Head Mahout to learn about the daily life of a Sumatran elephant as the elephants get saddled-up for the 'Explorer' or 'Adventurer' treks. The Explorer Full Trek

Be prepared to see more of the real Bali from high up on your Sumatran elephant! Pass through tropical plantations of mango, jackfruit, durian, coffee, bamboo and coconuts. Look out for birds and monkeys as you pass through the jungle and see how other animals such as pigs, cows and buffalos play a part in the daily lives of farmers and their families as you enter the small local village of Buanga. Pass by the village temple and witness daily life far away from the tourist areas. A highlight on the trip is to be invited into the home of a local farmer where you will enjoy a drink of fresh coconut. This is such a unique and enjoyable trek as you look down at glimpses of the river and trek though unspoilt rice paddies on your return to the Camp. You and your elephant become a part of the real Balinese experience. When you return to the camp enjoy a delicious western or Balinese 3 course menu at the 'Trunk' n ' Mahout' valley-view café and relax in the idyllic surroundings...

The Adventure Short Trek

If you want to become friends with a great Sumatran elephant, then try our shorter Adventurer Trek! You get to experience the beautiful landscape of our camp as well as venturing out for a trek along the edge of the valley…The views are incredible, so bring your camera! You may also get to see monkeys and tropical birds in their natural habitat. Look down at the raging Ayung River and discover how much fun riding an elephant can be. Our elephant will also show you his/her pool as he wades through the water to cool off from the hot sun. Feel free to relax and enjoy lunch at the 'Trunk' n ' Mahout' café at the end of the trek and enjoy the stunning valley scenery.

Elephant Welcome Ceremony

Try a real royal welcome with the Elephant Welcome Ceremony. Available for min. 20 people, two elephants will hold your company's welcome banner on arrival to the camp, you get tropical welcome drinks served in pineapples, a group photo with our elephants and a 10 minute spectacular show! 'Balinese Village Cycling' takes you through the back roads of the famous Carang Sari Village where you can glimpse the real life and culture of these amazing people. Bali Horse Riding

After being welcomed at our Saba Bay Stables, receive a full and comprehensive safety briefing from our professional guides before embarking on a memorable horse riding experience along the black volcanic sands and crashing waves of Saba Beach.

Take a unique look at this seaside village as you pass the Pura Segara Wilis temple before heading out onto the wide sandy beach. In the distance is Nusa Penida Island and beyond on a clear day you will also see the silhouette of the great volcano Gunung Agung.

Enjoy a peaceful ride along the beach before passing through bamboo and alang-alang plantations where wild banana trees and pineapples thrive. Also are many species of birds and a special temple dedicated to the annual rice harvest. Head back onto the beach and see the brightly coloured traditional fishing boats called 'Jukung' before arriving at the Lorin boutique hotel for lunch and refreshments. (No experience necessary.)
